January choice Boards
December Choice Boards
November Virtual Library Lessons
NOVEMBER 22nd - 29TH
This week we will be celebrating all things Thanksgiving! Our read alouds and nonfiction November selections are all Thanksgiving themed, as are the coloring and activity printables. For added fun I have given you some engineering challenges to do at home with any engineering toys you may have on hand. This may include K'NEX, Lincoln Logs, Lego's, Tinker Toys, blocks, or any other building toys you may have. Be creative in what you build with and how you meet the challenges you choose. Again, these are choice boards with lots of options for you to choose from. You do not have to complete every activity, but you can do as many as you would like to do. I hope you have fun and that you and your families all have a very Happy Thanksgiving! I'm looking forward to seeing each of you back in school next week!
NOVEMBER 15TH - 19TH
This week we will continue to focus on one of my favorite seasons, Fall. Our read alouds include Pete the Cat Falling for Autumn, Leaf Trouble, and Fletcher and the Falling Leaves. You'll also have the chance, with your parents help, to print coloring and activity pages, learn to create fall drawings using your own art supplies and paper, and learn more about the science behind the changing color of the leaves and other autumn changes that we observe. Click on the image below to get to the links. Choice boards are designed to give students options to do what they would like to do. They are not expected to complete every activity or watch every video. I hope you enjoy! Happy Reading!
November 8th - 12th
Welcome to NONFICTION NOVEMBER! Our checkout activities this month will focus on nonfiction books and resources. Watch this short video to learn about the difference between fiction & nonfiction books. www.yout-ube.com/watch?v=5CW2BMlZO4w Then click on the image below to enjoy exploring Animals from our November Choice Board and listening to this weeks read alouds The Scarecrow and Our Table. Happy Reading!

HORNUNG TEACHERS & STAFF CONNECTIONS
Hornung Families - We worked on a special project, and we hope you all enjoy it! We came together to spread love to our students through a read-aloud of “Love, Z” by Jessie Sima. We received permission by the Author and Publishers, Simon and Schuster to video this for our students. Please let them know that we love them and miss them, and we hope they keep reading, wondering and exploring like our new friend, Z! ️

In our second connection video, the Hornung Staff came together to share this message to our Hornung Families. We want you to know how much you are loved and missed!
